制作意 Decide on painting one work every day. Be sure to include the date. Not just paint, that is, but stick things on and apply ink to the paper, creating a wordless diary. Of course, over one work is produced a day. And so now the date, which becomes the work’s title, has gone well beyond the real, and many works of the future are already complete.

16 (Fri) – 27 (Tue) February 2001 (closed Sundays)
11.00 – 19.00 (until 17.00 on final day)

Acrylic on canvas and paper (about 15 works)

Ever since seeing Dali’s paintings when in high school, my sensibility has been directed to painting. Drawing, becoming devoted to etching, and then parting with the press machine to move to painting with acrylic.
I want to paint things of massive volume, like rock. As I paint words rise up inside me: “wit” and then “geological strata”. I work for one to two hours a day. The act of “painting” has gained a natural existence in my life.
