Although attracted by literature in
his youth, an encounter with Rene Char and Pierre Boulez, as well as a
painting by van Gogh, motivate the young Belgian artist Guy
Jaspar to dedicate his live to painting. Fascinated by the American
movement "Color field", of which Rothko is a precursor, and
the confrontation with oriental art during several sojourns in
Japan, durably influence his work.@ |
